I bought this unit back in November 25 to replace a regular water heater for the energy efficiency and tax rebate. The only issue I've had is the energy savings mode. If you have high demand of water use the electric elements will not come on right away which defeats the purpose of having a hybrid system. I have to place it in high demand load but I won't run out of hot water when there is more demand. Everything else has been working well on the unit.

Excepcional performance, plus it keeps my garage cooler. Also, the tax credit ($2,000) and my Orlando Utility Company rebate ($500) pays for the water heater. The energy efficiency ($550) per year will easily pay for the installation in 3 years. This is great investment that pays for itself in addition to lowering your energy consumption for years to come.

The heater works just fine, although the fan is a little loud. Happy with it so far and no issues. I love the wifi feature so I can monitor how much energy it's using, how full the tank is, what heating elements are active, and set the power preset conveniently. Be sure to have plenty of airspace around the unit so the heat pump can work effectively.

I replaced a perfectly working 80 gallon electric water heater with this 50 gallon heat pump water heater once I saw the price. ($569) Once you figure out the app quirks and what seems to be a slow to act water heater you�ll realize it�s an energy saving beast. Leave it in eco mode and let it do its thing. No problems yet but this is only after one month.

The water heater was extremely easy to install and has been keeping up with my family�s usage without any issues. It�s in the basement and has only marginal reduced the ambient temperature. Would highly recommend this product to anyone, especially with the greatly reduced power consumption.

Water heater seems to be working fine. But like many others on the web, the internet interface doesn�t work. And customer service is not great. They have a procedure to follow, and if that doesn�t work, they basically say good luck. I would say don�t try to hook up to the internet. If it doesn�t work out, you get a constant blinking light on your unit that cannot be reset even by cutting the power to it. Again, water heater heats water and heat pump works.

Seems to work real well. Not seen savings for water yet. It�s only been 1 month

Very satisfied with the new Rheem hot water heater 65 gallon. It was very easy to replace my original eight-year-old Electric 48 gallon water heater. The only problem was it is quite heavy and you will need help to put it on an 18� stand, which I have mounted in my garage.. the hot water heater not only has significantly reduced my electric power consumption, but it has also added cool dry air to my hot humid Florida garage. Win win. This should be a standard water heater in anyone who has a home in a warm climate.

Initially I had issues setting up the app using my android phone. After fighting it, I called customer support, who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. We determined that we had to setup first with an iOS device first, then the android would with no problem. After getting over that hurdle, I'm truly loving this purchase. Using the scheduling feature has been perfect. It has worked whether the app is open or not. Utilizing the setting, I haven't had any issues with lack of hot water. Uchiha the app and seeing it's status has been beneficial.

The Rheem Performance Platinum 40 Gal. Smart High Efficiency Hybrid Heat Water Heater. We've had this incredible product for about three months now, and I must say, it has truly exceeded our expectations. The turnaround time to produce hot water is impressive, and it has been highly efficient in maintaining a cooler environment around it, which is a fantastic bonus here in Florida. Not only does it save on electricity over time due to its efficient draw, but it has also lowered my annual homeowner policy by just under $500.00! This significant savings makes the extra upfront cost well worth it. Overall, we are extremely pleased with its performance and the added benefits it brings. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient water heater.

My installation required a condensate pump, but that was an easy install. The compressor and fan noise are less than I anticipated. As a bonus, my power company offered a $500 rebate in addition to the Federal Tax Credit allowed.

This heater works really well. I installed it myself. Live in Fl so the cooling the garage is a big plus. I had to replace the panel because of an error I was getting but came in two days and was easy to swap it out. It took almost a week for the water sensor to dry up from install. The app is very good too. Really happy with the unit so far.

Finally installed with the help of a neighbor. Replaced a 50 gallon electric. Works great, not only tons of nice hot water but is helping to cool the garage at the same time. Only issue is having plumber install Most wanted nearly what I paid to install it. It was two and 1/2 hours from power off to power on. It's not rocket science if your replacing another electric water heater.

Installed in basement where we run dehumidifier 6 months of the year, this water heater not only reduces the cost to heat water but, also dehumidifies the air. It is a win-win money saver. When you add the electric company's rebate and the federal tax rebate, the upfront cost is not that much higher than a standard water heater. The added cost is returned in savings within 3 years. \n\nIt does make some noise but we don't hear it on the first floor. It also cools the air and again in the basement we don't care. It would be perfect for a warm garage.

Love the WiFi enabled feature. So far so good.

Overall, very happy with this purchase. Communication by Home Depot was excellent. Store staff were helpful, even assisted loading the heater onto our trailer. The HD sale price (plus available rebates) made the heat pump version a no-brainer. I was able to install it myself 3 weeks ago. I like: - the overall look - the ability to connect to the top of machine - that the heat pump is removing a lot of moisture from the air - it cools our garage temperature - that I can control a few settings from the phone app (ECOnet), like various 'modes' as well as scheduling various water temperatures throughout the day and week. I don't like some shortcomings (why I only gave it 4 stars): - lack of clear instructions on how to use the ECOnet app (a video please) - Poor labeling in the app (says unit is '2/3rds Full' instead of '2/3rds Heated'). The unit is always full of water, so this inaccurate 'Full' label is extremely confusing. (Please fix the app) - Don't like that they hid access to the anode rod deep inside the heat pump area. And it looks like changing the rod will invalidate the warranty. The unit is very tall. So depending on your ceiling height, it may be difficult to replace a used anode with a new, long one. Fortunately, the 'electric type' anodes are fairly short. I hope to get 15�20 years out of this unit.
